History of Stroud's home furnishing

Stroud’s Home Furnishings was founded on the principles of providing service and providing quality products for local Arkansan families. Stroud’s first opened in downtown Morrilton, Arkansas in 1953 by Price Stroud and his wife June. The Strouds first opened a grocery store and carried small kitchen appliances. 

Stroud’s family-owned and operated business offers quality home furniture and in-store financing. Centered on service, Stroud’s Home Furnishings became a loved and respected Arkansas furniture store.

Price and June’s daughter, Cheri, worked at the family store in high school and learned more than just the furniture business during that time. "Often, Daddy would look around the store and say, 'Don't ever think I did this, or that, because all things come from God.' I have never forgotten that,” Cheri reflected.

Cheri Stroud Pruitt continued her education to become a certified interior decorator. She took ownership of the family business in 2004 and Cheri and her sons continue the Stroud family tradition of building lifelong relationships with their customers.

Stroud’s Home Furnishings has several showcase rooms, including two areas perfect for your lazy boy: a Sleep Zone and a La-Z-Boy Comfort Studio. In addition to a large collection of furniture on display, Stroud’s offers online shopping, interior design services, special order furniture and home goods.

Stroud's Home Furnishings is located southeast of Walmart on East Harding Street in Morrilton.

"Our facility is new, but we're still the same friendly, honest and helpful staff," Pruitt said. "We're doing business as usual, continuing the original philosophy that started our company over 60 years ago. We're honest, offer quality merchandise and we're here after the sale."
